About the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition: Committees

It's an exciting time to be a member of the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition. The CEC's committees provide opportunities for its members to become more involved in effectively propelling the mission of the CEC. Committees are the engine that drives the CEC's ability to successfully accomplish its goals in providing benefits to its members and effecting the course of the arts and cultural markets in northeast Ohio and the nation. Committees offer members the ability to network with other members, and have a more active role in the CEC.

Awards Show Committee

The Awards Show Committee is responsible for planning all aspects of the annual Cleveland Icon Awards Ceremony presented by the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition. Responsibilites of the Awards Show Committee include: implementation of the nomination and election process for the awards; development of sponsorship packages; organization of program and schedule of events; selection of entertainment; and all other aspects related to planning and preparation for the awards ceremony.

Creative Community Service Committee

The Creative Community Service Committee finds creative ways for the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition to give back to the community. Currently the committee is working on implementing a program for musicians and entertainers to perform at local-area hospitals for special needs patients.

Event Planning Committee

The Event Planning Committee's primary responsibility is developing and planning the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition's educational events. The commmittee selects the topics, locations, and formats for the educational events as well as choosing and coordinating with the panelists and guest speakers. The Event Planning Committee also plans membership rallies by choosing venues and entertainment, and structuring the rallies for targeting specific entertainment industry segments.

Fundraising Committee

Fundraising is a vital tool for any non-profit organization to succeed by offering more benefits and programs for its members. The Fundraising Committee coordinates creative fundraising events for the Cleveland Entertainment Coaltiion. The committee develops relationships with local-area businesses, charitable organizations, and other types of donors; they also investigate grants, fellowships, and other programs that the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition can participate in to help further its mission.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee finds creative ways to increase membership enrollment, and creates partnerships with other businesses and organizations to provide additional services, benefits, and discounts for CEC members.

Public Relations Committee

The Publc Relations Committe works with all media outlets to inform the general public of the activities of the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition. The committee also prepares all marketing materials for the CEC. Currently the Public Relations Committe is working on developing a marketing brochure and implementing a press release program for the members of the CEC.

Research Committee

The Research Committee works to preseverve northeast Ohio's entertainment history by conducting interviews with historical figures related to the area's past and present impact on the national entertainment scene and developing and maintaining a research library. The committee also conducts market research of the local-area and national entertainment scenes that will help the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition and its members develop their approach in today's ever-evolving entertainment industry and distribution markets.

Website Committee

The Website Committee drives the Cleveland Entertainment Coalition's internet presence using the latest in website technology. The committee also provides support to, and works closely with all other CEC committees to provide up-to-date information to all its members through clevelandec.org. Currently the Website Committee is looking for members with experience in web development and deployment to plan an effective meeting schedule.
